The prime requisite for the coach is a team that is ready say to win the world cup.
Unbeknown to me when I lived and played in England at the age of twenty was that this was the case.
Alf Ramsey at the time was this coach and before he won it he said they would win it.
The jump that the England team were about to take was in 1966.
